12 APR 13 - DRAGONS AND ANGELS
WINTER, APRIL, LONDON AND SPRING
April here, Easter gone, and Spring still on hold. Which means I have had time recently to process some images taken over the last few months or so. The Winter mist one from Bath is so evocative and peaceful (and quite a warm day, too, although it was December) that I include it here as a calm introduction. Victoria Park Botanical Gardens is a lovely place, and one that I have been going to for many years now. It is different every season, and every month, but this view through the mist to the morning sun was irresistible.
The angel, I feel, somehow reflects the current season.
But that's probably just me.
The Dragon was found on the Embankment just downriver from Westminster, taken during a walk from Paddington to Monument.
Moving through Hyde Park, Green Park and St James's Park in the snow on a bright winter day was energizing. All in all, a productive trip, finally dispelling my own personal myth that London is a city fragmented and accessible only by Tube. It is in fact quite compact, easy to walk in, and full of photographic treasure.
If they could just stop the lunchtime jockstrappers barging past on Embankment sweating and spitting, it would be perfect.
